In his latest video project "Pyrenean Textures", Kilian Bron explores some of the most colorful spots in the Pyrenees. Direction France, Spain and Andorra for this new video of the Private Sport Shop ambassador.
After his tour of Mont Blanc made last year with two amateur mountain bike riders, Kilian Bron went this time to the Pyrenees for his new video project. Baptized "Pyrenean Textures", this four minutes video is the result of a big work of research of spots in the massif which goes along the French-Spanish border. Whether in France, Spain and of course in Andorra, close to the offices of his sponsor Commencal, the French rider has focused for this production on the search for colored places.
An omnipresent mineral atmosphere, without any vegetation, in search of terrains each more colorful than the other. From the red of Castillo de Acher to the yellow of the Sierra de Guara, passing by the bright black of the Andorran summits, without forgetting the white of the various Spanish dry lakes, Kilian and his team multiplied the spots to end up with this new production shot "in a remote region of the Spanish Pyrenees" as Kilian explains.
"It's like a Dolomites air on the neighbouring peaks, while we are still evolving in beautiful meadows. Further on, the first boulders impose zig zags on us and we finally distinguish the objective of the day's MISSION. To reach this red earth pass, already drawing in the distance the multiple possibilities of freeride lines that are offered to us. (...) The descent remains sustained and technical. Real mountain biking, alternating fast and clear passages, to the most sinuous and brittle."
"As I wander around on Instagram, scanning each area we visit, I get lost on a page of local Tremp-based riders. Their specialty is similar to my vision of cycling, riding unusual and visually impressive places. This is also how I manage to find nice places. By juggling my Google searches, various social networks and chatting with locals."
"After a few exchanges of messages, we find ourselves on site, trying to find flow on a new winding ridge. Freshly cleaned, I am surprised at the technicality of the line, which winds over mounds of red earth. It briefly reminds me of our first day of shooting the "Tour de France", very close to Chamonix. This time, there was absolutely no room for error! I had put myself under more pressure than ever to concentrate and validate the shots. Indeed, I had no other choice than to stay on the bike, or else I would have fallen several hundred meters to the right and to the left.
"This trip marked the end of our projects for 2021. A year rich in travel, encounters and emotions. These same words will guide our adventures for 2022 and beyond, with a greater focus on lived experiences. That doesn't mean we'll put aside our signature stock videos. Rather, we'll expand into other formats that we haven't yet mastered, but that motivate the entire team."
