When Kilian Bron sublimates the colors of the Pyrenees

In his latest video project "Pyrenean Textures", Kilian Bron explores some of the most colorful spots in the Pyrenees. Direction France, Spain and Andorra for this new video of the Private Sport Shop ambassador.

After his tour of Mont Blanc made last year with two amateur mountain bike riders, Kilian Bron went this time to the Pyrenees for his new video project. Baptized "Pyrenean Textures", this four minutes video is the result of a big work of research of spots in the massif which goes along the French-Spanish border. Whether in France, Spain and of course in Andorra, close to the offices of his sponsor Commencal, the French rider has focused for this production on the search for colored places.

An omnipresent mineral atmosphere, without any vegetation, in search of terrains each more colorful than the next. From the red of the Castillo de Acher to the yellow of the Sierra De Guara, via the dazzling black of the Andorran peaks, not forgetting the white of the various Spanish dry lakes, Kilian and his team multiplied the spots to end up with this new production shot "in a remote region of the Spanish Pyrenees" as Kilian explains.

"It's like the Dolomites on the neighbouring peaks, while we're still moving through beautiful meadows. Further on, the first boulders force us into zigzags, and we finally make out the objective of today's MISSION. To reach this red earth pass, with the many freeride lines already in the distance. (...) The descent then remains steady and technical. It's real mountain biking, alternating between fast, clear sections and more sinuous, brittle ones."

"As I wander around on Instagram, scrutinizing every region we visit, I get lost on a page of local Tremp-based riders. Their specialty is close to my vision of cycling, riding unusual and visually impressive places. It's also how I manage to find nice places. By juggling my Google searches, the various social networks and chatting to the locals."

"Following a few message exchanges, we find ourselves on site, trying to find flow on a new winding ridge. Freshly cleaned, I'm surprised at how technical the line is, winding over mounds of red earth. It briefly reminds me of our first day of filming the "Tour de France", just outside Chamonix. This time, there was absolutely no room for error! I had put myself under unprecedented pressure to concentrate and validate the shots. Indeed, I had no choice but to stay on the bike, or risk falling several hundred meters to the right and left."

"This trip marked the end of our plans for 2021. A year rich in travel, encounters and emotions. These same words will guide our adventures for 2022 and beyond, focusing more on lived experiences. That's not to say we'll be putting aside our signature stock videos. Rather, we're going to extend our scope to other formats, which we haven't yet mastered, but which motivate the whole team."
