"THE SCALE OF HOPE", the new Patagonia film

Mountain climber, activist committed to preserving the planet and former advisor on the issue under Barack Obama, Molly Kawahata is featured in the latest film "The Scale of Hope by Patagonia.

"For those who can, dedicating themselves to sustainable living is great and noble. But the only way to truly solve the climate crisis is through systemic change. And that, in my opinion, is where the real power lies for everyone." In the film dedicated to her by Patagonia and unveiled a few weeks ago (The Scale of Hope, available in full below), we discover Molly Kawahata's vision of climate change. And to say that this American knows a thing or two about the issue would be an understatement.

A former energy and climate adviser to the Obama White House, Molly Kawahata now finds her strength in the mountains, as we see in the documentary as she prepares for an expedition into the Alaskan range, while working on the creation of a new climate narrative centered on her favorite question: "What can I do to help?".

Diagnosed as bipolar, her battle with mental illness has enabled her to understand how to use the power of the mind to create change, particularly when it comes to environmental commitment. This hour-long film dedicated to the American mountaineer-activist comes as the USA goes to the polls for the US mid-term elections. All but a coincidence on the part of Patagonia, which is known to be very committed to environmental and political issues. This film is a metaphor for struggle, hope and the means to solve the greatest problem of our time.
