Four-time freeride world champion Marion Haerty of France has had an almost perfect season, including a second place finish at the Jackson Hole stage of the Natural Selection Tour. Discover the backstage of this North American event in the last Vlog of the French rider.
She is now alone at the top of the freeride world. Marion Haerty has won her fourth World Champion title on the Freeride World Tour this season. A feat that no male or female rider had managed until then in the history of the discipline. It must be said that the Frenchwoman has not really left any room for doubt this season by winning the first three events of the year. After two victories in Andorra, she again dominated the international field by winning a third consecutive race in Fieberbrunn in Austria (see the video of her run below). Enough to secure the overall title before the final in Verbier (which took place this Tuesday).
Before that, the Private Sport Shop ambassador had time to make a detour to the North American continent to compete in the first stage of the Natural Selection Tour at the beginning of February. This backcountry snowboarding event, imagined by the legend Travis Trice, took place on the Jackson Hole spot in the Grand Teton National Park. The principle? Riding a face decorated with modules built by the man during the summer and send some tricks on them to hope to get the best score from the judges. In her latest Vlog, Marion Haerty filmed her journey to Wyoming (in the difficult conditions we know today and with a visa obtained three days before her departure for the USA). The Frenchwoman reveals the backstage of this event, which she finished in second place behind the young Zoi Sadowski-Synnott (only 19 years old).
Invited for the final of this Natural Selection Tour, which takes place this week in Alaska in Tordrillo, Marion Haerty finally declined. "Today, it's even harder to get to the United States than it could be last January," she explained on Instagram. "The procedures are longer and more complex. Unfortunately, even if riding in Alaska is a dream for any snowboarder, I preferred to stay in Europe to compete in the Freeride World Tour Final in Verbier. "The French rider ended the season in style by winning the biggest event of the year on the famous Bec des Rosses in Switzerland, thus remaining undefeated on the Freeride World Tour this season.
