UTMB IN UNDER 20 HOURS: PAU CAPELL'S CHALLENGE

Winner of the 2019 UTMB in a record time of 20 hours and 19 minutes, Private Sport Shop trailer Pau Capell has an even bigger dream: to swallow the 171km and 10,000m D+ course of the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc in under 20 hours.

A symbolic time that only three athletes have already surpassed: Kilian Jornet (19:49:30) and Mathieu Blanchard (19:54:50) on the now legendary 2022 edition, and François D'Haene (19:01:54) due to a shortened course in 2017.

A quest dubbed "Breaking 20" that he has been striving to achieve since 2020 and a first solo attempt that the Spanish traileur finally completed in 21 hours and 17 minutes in difficult conditions. A film will be made about this crazy challenge:

Injured in 2021, he will be forced to retire in 2022 after a gamble. This Friday 1er September 2023, at 6 p.m., a new story begins for Pau Capell on the showpiece event of the "World Trail Summit".
