Located in the commune of Belleville, in the Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, Val Thorens is a winter sports resort in the Tarentaise valley. Built on a virgin site in 1969, it was inaugurated for the winter season in 1971. 50 years after its birth, Val Thorens, belonging to the famous 4 Valleys domain, remains one of the flagship resorts of the Alps.
