In the latest film from their joint sponsor The North Face, the French snowboarder and Italian skier take us to the cradle of freeride, Alaska. Called "Circle Of Madness", the production is unveiled here in full.
Between them, they have four freeride world championship titles. Three for France's Victor De Le Rue (2019, 2021 and 2024) and one for Italy's Markus Eder (2019). Naturally, when the French snowboarder and the Italian skier work together on the same project, you'd expect a production worthy of the talent of both riders. In this respect, "Circle Of Madness" does not disappoint. This production, signed by their joint sponsors The North Face, was shot in one of the world's freeride paradises: Alaska. Unveiled below in its entirety, the film follows the two friends in their quest for the finest lines on these vertiginous faces at the end of the world.
Directed by Christoph Thoresen, "Circle Of Madness" showcases magical runs on the gigantic castle-like snow mountains so characteristic of Alaska. The two men had to be patient to ride in the best conditions. But they were rewarded with fabulous days of vertical descents, carefully studied in advance with maps and videos.
"Circle of Madness highlights the duality between unique mountain experiences and the reality of a mid-winter expedition, during which athletes more often wait for the ideal weather window than they slide. Keeping your spirits up during these dark days is a real test of mental strength, at the mercy of nature. From the descent of legendary lines that have written the sport's history to a bivouac mission on a face never skied before, Circle of Madness tells the story of an incredible expedition."
