UTMB: a new challenge for Thibaut Baronian

Thibaut Baronian is preparing to take a new step in his career as a traileur. Known for his performances on shorter formats, Thibaut felt the need for a change. So he decided to take on a major challenge this year: the UTMB, one of the world's most feared and respected races.

Going from short to long distance is not a simple adjustment. Thibaut has adapted his training for this new objective, increasing the hours spent on the trails and focusing more on endurance than pure intensity. Although he retains the quality of work that has been his strength, he knows that the UTMB requires fine-tuned effort management, a mind of steel, and meticulous physical preparation.

It's a challenge with many unknowns, a test of his physical and mental capacities. This will be his first race of its kind, his first full night on the trail, with all the challenges that implies. His aim is not to set a time or finish, but to complete the race according to his own criteria, managing each stage carefully.

As the UTMB ball got underway yesterday, Thibaut isn't putting too much pressure on himself. He's concentrating on the experience, on discovering his limits and on continuous learning. Every race is a new lesson, and this one promises to be an enriching one for his career.
