OPENING STORY - WE ROCK SPORT THE PODCAST WITH MATHIEU MAYNADIER

In the last century, the first conquerors of the heights ventured to the peaks of mountains here and abroad to tread the immaculate snows and open up new horizons for generations of mountaineers to come. They drew the contours of our massifs and forever inscribed their names in the rock. Decades later, which lines and summits remain to be discovered? In this world of ephemerality and perpetual change, mountains sometimes offer a glimpse of new possibilities...

Alpine climber Mathieu Maynadier, Mémé to his friends, is considered one of the most experienced mountaineers of his generation, waltzing sometimes with rock, sometimes with ice, often with both from one step to the next. He too has put his name to a number of climbs, most recently a first in the Mont Blanc massif at the end of February, alongside the Ladevant brothers, Louna and Tristan. A furtive line on the reverse side of the Aiguilles in Chamonix, where everything seemed to be already mapped out. He tells us about this day, punctuated by a few surprises, and plunges us into the perched world of the high mountains, where nothing is left to chance...
